Our grandfather used to say that he could only make great wine with great fruit.
This simple but effective philosophy is reflected in all that we do today, from our rigorous approach to vineyard management to consistency and discipline over fruit selection.
With every vintage, we want our Lou Miranda Estate and Leone wines to accurately reflect their variety and region, while ensuring excellent fruit flavours, mouthfeel and satisfaction.
Our objective is to create a unique wine experience combining traditional family elements and world-class wine making techniques.
We hope you enjoy our Lou Miranda Estate and Leone range of Barossa premium wines as much as we do.
The name Leone originates from Lou’s mother, Caterina Leone. It means lion in Italian. We have named this series as our way of honouring a family tradition in wine-making that dates back to the beginning of last century.
The Leone range consists of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Botrytis Semillon, Brut Prestige and Sparkling Shiraz.
Our mission with this range is to produce distinctive, vibrant wines with elegance, delicacy and flavour.
This simple but effective philosophy is reflected in all that we do today. We have a rigorous approach to vineyard management, with consistency and discipline over fruit selection.
Lou Miranda Estate
We have chosen our super premium range from exclusive parcels of grapes, these wines reflect our drive to produce excellence. The range consists of Old Vine Shiraz, Old Vine Shiraz Mourvedre and Cordon Cut Shiraz. Every year we strive to produce wines that accurately reflect the Barossa region along with our passion for our business.
Our fruit for the flagship Old Vine Shiraz comes entirely from vines in the world-renowned Barossa Valley in South Australia that were planted just after the First World War.
Our Cordon Cut Shiraz is sourced from the same vineyard but the special French pruning we carry out just before vintage produces a wine with fuller, riper flavours.
The Old Vine Shiraz Mourvedre is sourced from our Angel’s Vineyard. This vineyard was planted over a century ago, and the wine has been aged in American oak for 20 months.
