Our Vineyards

Lou Miranda Estate comprises of 3 vineyards sites, two located in Rowland Flat and another in Lyndoch.

Plantings are predominately single wire trellis with inline dripper irrigation however all our “Old Vine” blocks are bush vines with no irrigation, some dating back as far as 1898.

Our vineyard philosophy is to grow premium grapes reflecting their Barossa origins. We believe great wines will always start in the vineyard.

Using modern techniques with a belief in sustainable production, our viticulture ensures consistent high quality grapes continuing the heritage of the iconic Barossa Valley. 

We are so fortunate that all wines at Lou Miranda Estate are estate grown, fostering an intimate knowledge of our vineyards. This allows complete control over viticultural management and allows access to the same fruit year after year so our wines will always be an true reflection of the grapes we grow.

Rovalley Ridge Vineyard

Situated directly across the road from the winery in Rowland Flat is our “Rovalley Ridge” vineyard, with more Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon as well as Merlot, Sagrantino, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio.

Angels Vineyard

Approximately 10km from the winery in Lyndoch is our “Angel’s Vineyard” which is the home to some our most exciting new and old Shiraz and also our 110 year old Mourvedre plantings.

Our Winemaking

At Lou Miranda Estate, our family aspires to make fruit driven, balanced and sophisticated wines that will complement food. Our philosophy is that good wine should be enjoyed with good food and good company. 

Our vision is to balance the tradition and experience of Lou, with the contemporary innovation of Lisa and Victoria, to produce classic wines with a fresh new outlook. Our winemaking has origin and heritage in mind, we endeavour to honour the traditions of the Barossa and reflect both region and varietal integrity in our wines.  

Each vineyard lot is kept separate at the winery, so we can truly capture the essence of each block. As a boutique producer we are able to embrace many ‘handcrafted’ winemaking techniques that come with small batch production.

All our ‘Old Vine’ wines are handpicked and fermented in small open fermenters, with regular hand plunging. Maturation occurs in 100% oak and each barrel is treated to two years of love and care before careful blending and bottling.
