Tasting Notes

Colour

With it’s burnt bronze colour and light mahogany tinges, the Spider Web with age will lighten in colour.

Bouquet

Soft traces of cigars and rich dark chocolate notes with dried prune and sundried currant.

Taste

Silky caramel with overtones of fig jam and a touch of toffee. A lingering palate due to great depth of dried fruit flavor and great balance.

Ageing

The fruit was picked ultra ripe (19 baume) and concentrates in the beautiful warm Australian climate to produce an ultra luscious and generous wine.  The fermentation is short (1-3 days), and fortified with premium spirit to stop fermentation and retain natural grape sweetness. This tawny has spent many years carefully maturing in big format oak (2500L- 5000L barrels) in the cellar.

Food matches

The Spider Web has deep inviting aromas and flavours. It is ideal on its own, or with cheeses, dried fruits or pate.  We recommend serving it at your next card night. Spider Web gets its name from spending so many years patiently ageing in the cellar.
