Tasting Notes

Deep crimson red with vibrant Indigo hues.

Ripe plum & blackberry fruits with a perfect marriage of spice notes derived from carefully selected oak. The bouquet is lifted due to the florals on the Grenache portion.

A generous yet elegant wine offering balanced palate weight, length and structure. Brooding forest fruit characters are complemented by spice flavours and smooth tannins. The oak delivers persistence of flavour and length with a distinct toasty oak flavour adding depth.

Amazingly, our Lou Miranda Estate Old Vine Shiraz/Grenache blend is sourced from our over 100 year old Barossa Valley estate vines (called centenarian vines). The fruit is carefully selected and hand-picked, and the old vine Shiraz typifies the generous varietal characters of the Barossa. The Grenache adds perfume and complexity while smoothing out traditional chewy Barossa tannins. Only small open fermenters and gentle handling of the fruit are used to process the grapes to ensure quality from vine to bottle. 50% new medium toasted American oak is used on the Shiraz portion.
