Wine-making for Lou Miranda has always been a passion that is reflected in his love of family, fine wines & cuisine. This is coupled with a dedication to excellence which is reflected in three generations of Miranda. I am proud to introduce the Golden Lion range. The Golden Lion is an ode to the Autumn vine, shedding their golden leaves in preparation for a bountiful Spring.
Inky depth of colour (dark and intense) with purple hues.
Lifted dark fruit characters are seamlessly combined with varietal spice and hints of pepper. The nose has an enticing aroma of chocolate liquorice and baked blueberries which is integrated into the richness of the wine.Palate
This wine has a warm, inviting and full bodied palate, which is beautifully ripe & generous. It tastes of rich, sweet blackberry & raspberry fruits and the vanilla oak is complimentary to the chocolaty tannins. A superb length and higher tannins than usual making it a superb food wine.
The 2014 vintage provided a spectacular growing season of which the Barossa is famous for and hence produced outstanding fruit quality. The wine is a rich wine with sweet fruit, oak and palate length. The yields were down 50%, producing uniquely intense and concentrated colours, flavours and tannins.
This wine can be enjoyed with chargrilled beef tenderloin, or aged cheddar cheeses.
Alternatively it can be drunk on any occasion and with correct cellaring can be enjoyed for many years - Cellar for 10 years or more.
